In collaboration with the Leonardo S.p.A., for the new East Midlands airport sorting system, an important airport in the United Kingdom Parcel & Postal sector, we have carried out the following activities:

• Commissioning of the plant;
• PLC software development and realization;
• Performance analysis through the creation of an automation software capable of acquiring data in the field in real time and processing subsequent reports;
• System operation test and verification in the presence of the customer.

The implemented activities have produced a new material handling system with high efficiency and productivity. These are some of the main numbers of the innovative hub:

• Warehouse area of ​​400,000 m²;
• 64,800 packages per hour;
• Transit time: <5 minutes;
• Overall length of the belts: 10 Km;
• 6 sorters (automatic parcel sorting systems);
• 2200 engines;
• Activation period: 24 hours a day.
